Learning Objectives

  • Understand the theoretical concept of self in Gestalt-Relational psychotherapy and how the therapist participates in supporting the child’s development of a sense of self.
  • Discuss the recent developments in the neurosciences and the significance of the research in our work as play therapists and our understanding of self development in Gestalt Play Therapy.
  • Become more skilled in using sand tray from the phenomenological perspective.
